Lookmetry

Privacy policy

Last updated 12 September 2026

This policy explains what Lookmetry (https://lookmetry.com) collects, what it does not collect, and what choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Images and biometric data: we never receive them

This is the part most people come to this page for, so it goes first.

Our measurement tools use a face landmark model that is downloaded to your browser and executed on your own device using WebAssembly. Your camera stream and any photograph you select are processed locally, inside the browser tab. They are not uploaded to our servers, not sent to any third party, and not written to any storage we control.

We therefore hold no photographs, no video, no facial landmark coordinates, no facial geometry, and no measurement results. We could not produce your data on request because it never reaches us. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the network tab, and run a measurement. You will see our model file being downloaded and nothing being sent back.

Photographs you choose are held in your browser's memory for the duration of the analysis and discarded when you leave or reset the tool. Camera access is requested only when you press the button that starts a measurement, and the stream is stopped as soon as the measurement finishes or you navigate away.

What we do collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are used, and Microsoft Clarity to see where interfaces confuse people. Both may set cookies and both receive a truncated IP address, a device and browser description, and a record of the pages you viewed. Clarity additionally records interactions such as clicks and scrolling in order to reconstruct a session. Neither receives any image or measurement from the tools.

If you are visiting from a region where consent is required, these are not loaded until you agree, and declining is a real option that leaves the site fully functional.

Advertising

We show advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to limit how often you see a given advert, to measure campaigns, and where permitted to personalise what you are shown. Google's own description of this is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can control personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.

Local storage

We store your consent choice in your browser's local storage so you are not asked on every page. Some tools may store your last-used settings the same way. This data stays on your device and is readable only by this site.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP address and user agent in order to serve pages and to protect against abuse.

What we never do

Legal basis and your rights

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful basis for analytics and personalised advertising is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Our lawful basis for the minimal processing required to serve and secure the site is legitimate interest.

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us at hello@lookmetry.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law requires. Please note again that we hold no images or measurements.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The measurement tools may legitimately be used by a parent measuring a child, and since no image is transmitted, no data about that child reaches us.

International transfers

Our analytics and advertising providers are international and may process data outside your country, under the safeguards described in their own policies.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. The commitment that facial analysis stays on your device is architectural, not a preference, and is not something we intend to change.
